1959 Pontiac Catalina Widetrack, Tom
Wilhite
What a sight it
is to see this huge Pontiac in action at the track. This car
is truly impressive because it has run a best elapsed time of 9.86
seconds at over 135 miles per hour in the quarter mile. Most
people are amazed that the car is all-steel with the exception of
the fiberglass hood scoop and front bumper that we created
here at the shop.
Mr. & Mrs. Wilhite have been very
successful with their fast Pontiacs. They are pictured in
Dallas, TX at the 2006 Pontiac Southern Nationals. They each took
home the win in their respective classes. The red 1958
Pontiac is Sharon Wilhite's "Old Warrior," it

Tom's Catalina started
from a car found rotting out in a field near Miami,OK. Now it
spends summers taking on anyone brave enough to line up against
this Widetrack Wonder. This car suffered extensive rust
and decay from spending the last 25 years out in the
elements.
